When you buy a
travertine tile you want it to be perfect. You want your flooring to look like it is supposed to. On travertine stone the floor needs to be flat and all tiles need to be flat as well. There should not be any lippage on a stone floor. If you buy an expensive floor don't think for one minute you can hire any tile installer to put it in. I will attached a picture that shows what the floor should look like and another picture showing what you get if you hire a installer that doesn't know what he is doing. Whenever you install a travertine stone floor you must use the right thinset as well. If you have a light travertine tile you will need to use a white thinset. You will notice the tile looking darker by using a grey thinset. You will notice in the picture that the tile is not flat. You can see the edges of the tiles which is a very bad thing . Call
